Furniture business entrepreneurs shared notes and ideas at a series of business roundtables hosted by CTSW’s Jerry Cohen, a member of the Withit Board of Governors and who has represented furniture and home furnishings clients for more than twenty years. The roundtables took place on August 13 at the WithIt Professional Conference in Atlanta. WithIt is a national organization dedicated to the professional advancement of women in the furniture industry.
Roundtable conversations centered on the nuts and bolts of starting a small business, including business plans and goals, target markets, and legal issues such as business entities, contracts, policies, and intellectual property.
Earlier this year, CTSW hosted a presentation for WithIt on trends in home furnishings, and also hosted a networking roundtable for furniture and home furnishings executives and entrepreneurs. Jerry also writes the blog on law and business for FurnitureToday.com.
